Can I run BackupChain inside Virtual Machines?
Yes, you can install BackupChain on guest operating systems inside virtual machines.
We recommend installing the Integration Services and enabling (and configuring to auto-start) the following services:
COM+ System Application Service
Distributed Transaction Coordinator Service
Volume Shadow Copy Service
VMware VSS writer (if using VMware)
Hyper VSS writer (if using Hyper-V)
Oracle VSS writer (if using Oracle 11g or later)
SQL Server VSS writer (if using Microsoft SQL Server)
Note: for VSS to work correctly you need to have an NTFS file system installed and sufficient hard drive space on the drive where the snapshots are taken.
