Exchange Backup Part I

The term exchange backup is another concept related to backup. Exchange backups are designed to cater to the needs of a Microsoft Exchange Server administrator; hence, Exchange backups are specialized to work with Exchange Server. Exchange Servers typically store the mailboxes of an organization's users, including all sent emails, received emails, calendars, and contacts. Since exchange backups allow the concurrent backup and restoration of the email accounts of multiple users, this type of solution is usually designed for medium to larger corporations rather than smaller-sized firms. Most professionals and smaller businesses usually do not need Exchange Server and instead rely on email clients, such as Outlook and Thunderbird to manage their emails.

Deploy BackupChain using backup external devices, FTP / FTPS, or a network target and keep your emails backed up safely. Your live server backup may be delta compressed to save space and encrypted using military-strength encryption. If you run Exchange within a virtual machine, you may backup the entire VM via BackupChain's Hyper-V disaster recovery and server protection or VMDK server backup features.
