I have been using BackupChain for almost two years. My company is called Jackson, Key Practice Solutions and we have a datacenter that hosts the software for about 100 small doctors offices. We have about 25 servers, both stand-alone and in a Hyper-V virtual environment. We use BackupChain (BUC) for all of it. It is especially nice when backing up the VM’s from the Hyper-V hosts. It does a good job of this, competing with products like Symantec that costs thousands. Their support has been great and for the price I’ve not found a better solution. In fact, I am writing this review because I really like the guys in support. They’ve been with me through a few tight spots and I feel I owe them.

…[w]e just virtualized 3 servers in March with no real game plan on deployment. I was able to pull it all off, but got stuck on the backup strategy. […] I ended up working with Savas at BackupChain( I call him savvy) and he helped me play with a trial, produce a full
backup, and a full restore.
I went ahead and bought the 2 years and at first had slow issues. Savvy helped me out and even gave me access to beta software that they custom wrote for me when I was having bottleneck issue and slow performance.
I got everything working last week. On Monday, my entire RAID in the server died. The true test came when I had data VHD on another RAID, but no OS VHD. I couldn’t get the BackupChain restore to work so I tried calling after hours and Savvy answered. I was expecting voicemail, or at least a fee for after hour support. Not only did he help, he stuck around and when I called back an hour later, he answered.
My restore was successful. I’m pretty new to virtualization and won’t look at anyone else for my backups. If you want to be unsure about your backups and solid tech support, go try another company. BackupChain kicks a** and has a strong, reliable product.
