How to Boot Windows from a USB Drive or Stick
In the video below, we set up a USB bootable external drive with Windows, step-by-step. A USB bootable Windows installation is the gold standard for all kinds of IT administrator tasks, such as system recovery and troubleshooting. Note that Windows-to-Go is required and it’s a feature that is only available in Windows Server, Hyper-V Server, and Windows 10 / 11 Enterprise. We’ll show you in the video where to download the Windows ISO installer directly from the Microsoft Evaluation Center. In our example video, the bootable Windows USB drive is created with the 180-day, fully functional trial version of Windows Server 2022.
